Reflection

Distance closes, and there she lies,
Uneasy is the word that describes,
The moments when we find the time,
Never lost, the fact that you're not mine,

Not of this earth, falling softly from the sky,
God's gift to me, on borrowed time,
Abiding here, now all's in place,
Humbled for I'm not worthy of this grace,

Grateful my eyes were able to see,
Purposed woman, a welcomed breeze,
Only with you, do I feel unworthy,
Reminds cherished blessings don't come daily,

Found Love, which quickly displace,
False intentions on you gently laced,
Embracing our dreams, we flow the same,
Reflection of myself, I offer my name.

Linger

Let’s not say goodbye, "See you later" leaves more hope,
The possibility of not loving you, it's hard to cope,
Just thinking about you, makes my heart speed,
Press on the brakes, because I see the need,

As writing temporarily relieves the pain,
Struggling with doubts if you feel the same,
Wanting me, as much as I want you,
As skies and rivers are the only things blue

Lingers the touch, that sweetens relief,
As dreams come, and leave as brief,
Love straightens, makes things crystal clear,
Anything that harms, I don’t want near,

Strength that holds on for dear life,
Even after the day, we are husband and wife.

Fingertips

Sitting here, no strength to move,
Day creeps away, as Night now looms,
Empty hands, display what's lost,
A lonely Heart, gently tallies the cost,

Drown doubts, deep as Great Lakes,
Illuminate decisions, turned to mistakes,
Time drifts on, As we Live and Die,
Watching Love grow, then stroll on by.

Mulligan

I can’t help ponder that there’s something I miss,
Possibly opportunity for happiness that leads to sweet bliss,
Just as dry sand slips through these clay hands,
Did I lose the occasion to be your man?

Wishes designed with you somehow still being here,
Wouldn't have manifest, till you were no longer near,
Seems I often moved too slow, others times too soon,
Understanding the sun doesn't shine the same, when you're the moon,

Stuck in life’s traffic, with no GPS, in need of direction,
Lying to myself, saying I don't, require your affection,
If one wish was granted, and your presence inhabited mine,
I'll tell myself I’ll do better next time,

But time is not obligated, to repeat the things we take for granted,
Like a heart felt plea, for Love's second chances.
