Confessions II: I Just Wanna Know You

You’re a book I can’t put down,
Waiting for years for your arrival date,
And once in my hands, I can’t release.

May I shine on your pages, let me know more,
Engaged in your presence, delight in your soul?
Then like shopping sprees, take all of you in?

My lips part and she divulges herself,
She saying she's laid back and down to Earth.
Confirming my suspicions I know from whence she came,

Say your desires, I'll clearly transcribe,
Grab the paper and pen I keep by my side,
Rehearsing my notes, because your class is always in session.

I'll be the star pupil, the envy of others,
Perfect attendance, there's nothing I'm missing,
When it's for you I'll do more than assigned.

Giving you my all, but just a piece of you I'll cherish,
I recognize moments like this don't happen to anyone,
With a planet of 8 billion, you'll be the only one.

My ears attentive, as my thoughts are provoked,
Into beautiful interests and tales of a romantic's dream,
To possibly love a little longer the time we share.

Teach me your ways, let me not assume,
Which is the best way of loving you,
Wondrous is your heart to explore,
So with every breath I just want to know you.
