The Love He'll Never Know
Dawn breaks like shattered glass within my mind,
Yet through shard pieces, I see the reflection of night.
Trials to struggles, struggles to find the light,
As rays of hope illuminate the scars of my heart.
Patched work recoveries and late night surgeries,
Left capsuled memories of how Love tired to mend.
Achieving where King's men have failed, I climb her wall,
Thinking he's worth the fall and the shell it may break.
He said he cared, wanted to spend the time,
But as excuses piled, it seemed like another line.
Counterfeit is his name, as he wasn't what he seemed,
Had me loving enough to climb these heights again.
Gazing into the horizon, hearing the same old lies,
Have dreams of forever, when the reality's goodbye.
A flood of tears, wash revealing the ruins of truth,
When shivering hands, released its' grip on fear.
As Night closes and wisdom brings the day in line,
I find conclusion to facts that arrived at deadline,
Learning to Love myself, a lesson that shouldn't wait.
So when He calls, I can't find time to conversate.
And right now all I pray and desire to be,
Is the new woman Destiny planned for me.
So when he broke my heart, there's no issue letting that go,
Because this is the Love he'll never know.
